Macbook Pro and Dell wireless keyboard connectivity issues

I am using a MacBook pro 2019 and Dell k117 wireless mouse and keyboard. While I never had any issues connecting the keyboard to the MacBook, the connection keeps getting interrupted. Sometimes, the keyboard just wouldn't work for a few seconds. So when I type, nothing appears on the screen. This also happens with the mouse where it feels like the cursor is moving in stock motion on the screen. Its very annoying. I am using the Apple USB- Lighting to USB-C connector for the keyboard and mouse.

Any suggestions?

Hello la.ar.as.1903,

Thank you for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. We understand you have a wireless keyboard and a mouse by Dell, that is intermittently loosing connection to your MacBook Pro. We can help point you in the right direction.

To help troubleshoot the wireless mouse and keyboard, we suggest to follow the steps outlined on Dell's website through this link here: Guide For Pairing and Troubleshooting Dell Bluetooth Keyboards and Mouse

In addition, you want to isolate and see if there's a possible wireless interference that might be contributing to this behavior. Here's a helpful article with the proper steps: Resolve Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues caused by wireless interference

We look forward to hearing an update on the results.

Kind regards.

Hi Brendan,

It was probably the wireless interference issue as you pointed out. I got a new wireless keyboard and mouse that uses bluetooth connectivity instead of a USB adapter like Dell and it works much better now. The USB adapter was connected to the same hub that I use to connect my monitor to my MacBook. Not facing any issues anymore. Thank you for pointing me to the link though. Its really helpful right now since I am using multiple devices at the same time (a monitor, a bluetooth speaker, bluetooth keyboard and mouse, and an internet dongle) along with the power chord cluster. Thank you Work from Home right? #sarcasm
