Keyboard keeps disappearing on iPad (5th generation)

So in these apps, does the entire keyboard just disappear, or is the keyboard area there but blank? You may want to pick one of those affected apps and reinstall it to see if the issue remains as a test. Choose the one that you'd like to test with and open the Settings app. Tap General, then tap iPad Storage. Tap the affected app, then tap Offload app. Tap Offload app again. Wait a moment for the app to offload, then tap Reinstall App.

Once that is done, test it out and see if the same issue occurs. If so, let us know and we'll try another step or two.

Does this behavior occur mainly with in specific apps, or is it happening in all apps? What we mean by that is does the issue appear in or is it initiated in a specific app? If so, which app or group of apps? You also mentioned that you're as up to date as you can based on the requirements put forth for that device as far as iPadOS is concerned. How about the installed apps? Have you tried to update those manually? If not, follow Update apps or use automatic downloads to ensure that they're all updated and test once again.

Once you've tested, let us know what you find out.
