Apple Watch Series 6 battery drain compared to Apple Watch Series 3 battery life

I’ve been using my Apple Watch Series 6 for a few days now and am a bit surprised by how quickly the battery drains throughout the day compared to my Apple Watch Series 3 even with similar usage. I’ll end the day with about 36%, whereas my Apple Watch Series 3 would end the day at about 60/70%. I’m using the always on display, but should the battery drain be this different?

I’ve seen the suggestion of unpairing and repairing the watch to improve battery life, but I wasn’t sure whether this is the battery life I should expect from the Series 6?

Thanks

Hello JCommunity,

Thank you for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. We understand you're experiencing low battery life on an Apple Watch Series 6.

It's important to maximize the battery life on an Apple Watch, and we'd like to help.

Just to be sure, we recommend to review the battery condition of your Apple Watch by opening Settings > Battery > Battery Health.

If there's no issue with the battery health of the Apple Watch, let's ensure the paired iPhone is updated to iOS 14.01 and the Apple Watch is updated to watchOS 7.0.1. Here's how to perform each step, along with additional methods to isolate this behavior further:

  1. Restart your iPhone
  2. How to restart your Apple Watch
  3. Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
  4. Update your Apple Watch

Now, if these steps do not help, we suggest contacting Apple Support to review this further. You can contact them through this link here: Get Support

Kind regards.
