New iPad stuck at set up Apple ID

Hi,

How long is the "it may take a few minutes to setup Apple ID" supposed to take? I unboxed my iPad yesterday evening. While setting it up for the first time it got stuck at the "set up apple id" stage for a couple of hours. So I used iTunes on my PC and restored and updated the iPad. Then tried the set up again. And since last night it has been stuck at "it may take a few minutes to setup Apple ID". It has been over 9 hours. This is the first Apple product I've purchased and so far I'm very disappointed!

Wanted to give a further update. Doing some investigation online.....you can bypass this part of the set up process and just complete it later. Restart your device and then when you get to the part about setting up your Apple ID, just choose the option that you forgot it and don't have one. You will get the option to set it up later. My disappointment was not lessened by the whole experience, but I can now access my device.
