Share Sheet: Contacts “suggest less”

I see that you can long press a contact in the share sheet and choose “suggest less”. Where is that info stored? It seems iOS is temperamental and my long pressing of a contact and choosing suggest less actually removed another contact I DO want as a suggestion. Now that contact is blacklisted? It would be nice to be able to undo/edit contacts we’ve told iOS to suggest less. It would further be nice if we could ask iOS to make iOS “suggest more”. You would think pinned conversations in iMessage would be prime candidates for suggestions on the share sheet and would remain pinned there as well. Anyone know how to modify in iOS 14?

FOUND A FIX. Chris provides no help whatsoever so hopefully people see this. Suggest less to everything you see until it has absolutely nothing left to suggest less. I did this and my SO reappeared where she used to be. This, of course, means that you need to need to exchange a number of messages/share a number of things to get it working again. Oh, and if you mess up again you have to “suggest less” to everything - again.

A Work Around: This is how I restored contacts to the share sheet. Bring up the contact, then do a screen shot to save that contact info as a picture so you can refer to it. Next, delete the contact, then recreate it except you need to misspell their name (ie: John Smith is recreated as Johnx Smithx. That new contact will show up in the share sheet within a day once you start sending them pics or whatever you send. Wait two full weeks, then rename the contact to the correct name. This worked for me (twice).

Greetings Gregstud,

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities! It seems you're curious how Siri makes suggestions, and have feedback for feature enhancements to Siri contact suggestions.

Check out the information in the following article for how Siri uses on-device processing to make suggestions: Siri Suggestions, Search & Privacy - Apple Support

You're welcome to leave feedback directly to Apple at the following website: Product Feedback - Apple

Kind regards.

The lack of ability to undo this action is an egregious user experience failure. Who designs this sort of thing? For all there is to like about Apple products, I continue to be amazed that thoughtful, well designed software UX – once an Apple hallmark – has tanked in recent years. Note, that I used a Shortcut action that I added to the Share Sheet as a workaround. But it is a clunky way to fix a obvious, predictable problem.
