I ordered my iMac online,
can someone tell me why it takes 3-4 weeks before shipment ?
It also depends on when that order was placed. When the pandemic first started, everyone still had stock; now, the stock is depleted and everything has to be manufactured which presents another problem: factories are sparsely staffed, so it'll take longer.
If you bought something other than the standard configurations,
it will take longer and in these times much longer.
Manufacturing is also delayed. They are made in China. Don't forget the shipping delays. There is nothing that is not affected. We had to wait 2 months for a shower door made in USA.
Not sure if you have heard, but there is a global pandemic and it has affected the entire planet including delivery times of computers.
I purchased a standard configuration (27" with 512GB SSD) and I received it well before the initial time frame. Originally, it was supposed to take 2 - 3 weeks. I had it within 7 days. Hope that will be the same case for you.
