Phone not turning off, Grey Screen, and No access to apps

I installed iOs14.01 this morning, throughout the day my phone was fine until the person i was on a facetime with, her phone died during the call and my screen turned grey. I thought nothing of it at first, but then when her phone was charged she tried to call me again, The grey screen was all that was there, no decline or answer button just grey. So I called her and it went through but there was no facetime it was just a grey screen. After she hung up the call (because i couldn't access that either.) I tried to restart my phone but the "Shut Down" didn't ever pop up. I can swipe left, right, up, and down on my homescreen and i can see everything, but i can't open up ANY apps. What if there was an emergency? I wouldn't be able to call any hotline because that doesn't work. Please get back to me as soon as possible, thank you

Try and Force Restart your iPhone exactly as shown below and see whether that resolves the issue:

  • Press and quickly release Volume UP button
  • Press and quickly release Volume DOWN button
  • Press and Hold the SIDE button until an Apple logo appears then release the Side button (Can take up to 20 seconds. DO NOT release Side Button when invited to Slide Power OFF).
