unable to verify account or password

OK,

so I've seen a lot of posts about this, but most of them seem to be dead ends becaue they are poorly written, or because they are about mail accounts.

I am unable to log into Facebook, Twitter, or Flikr in System Preferences > Internet accounts.

unable to verify account or password (username removed in pic - i'm pretty sure you know what I mean, but I'm not going to assume)

Passwords have been verified by logging in on Firefox. Two-factor authentication is off. I've tried logging in using another user account on the machine and am getting the same results.

Macbook Pro Early 2011,

Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.6
