If you are not using the Ancestry.com app, you may want to visit the App Store and download their app for use on your iPad. This may make it easier.
To update Safari on your iPad, you will need to check and see if you have a software update available for your iPad. Since Safari is a built-in app on your iPad, it will need to be updated with the software.
