Pairing my watch with new phone

I am trying to pair my new phone with my watch and when I try to update my watch it says not connected to the internet.

iPhone 11, iOS 14

Pairing a used Apple Watch with an iPhone 12 I’m trying to pair my old Apple Watch with my sister’s iPhone 12. When we try to pair them we get a message about unable to update because there’s no internet connection, but I can clearly see the phone is connected to the internet. Watch won't pair or update because it says I'm not connected to the internet, but i am . How do I get my watch to pair with my phone after an update for my phone?
