Pair new iPhone with Apple Watch

I need to pair my Apple Watch with my new iPhone. I’ve been through all the steps. There is an update needed and I get the message I am not connected to the internet. I am connected. Also, 5G gave same message.

Pairing a used Apple Watch with an iPhone 12 I’m trying to pair my old Apple Watch with my sister’s iPhone 12. When we try to pair them we get a message about unable to update because there’s no internet connection, but I can clearly see the phone is connected to the internet.
