Tripple monitor set up with Macbook Air?

Just wondering if i can connect three monitors to my Macbook air 2018. I am aware that apple has stated that the Macbook air can only connect to two displays (I'm assuming due to there being only two thunderbolt 3 ports) however if i was to connect a docking station would i then be able to have three monitors set up?

No, you’re limited to two. It’s not the number of ports, it’s the graphics capabilities of the Mac that sets the limit of one 5K or two 4K external displays.
