Keynote icloud-sharing stopped working

Hi all,

I use Keynote collab on a daily basis from my Macbook Pro (latest version), Ipad Pro (2018) and Iphone XS. All three devices run the latest OS and I have lots of unused space on my icloud account.

Anyway, the Keynote collab feature has just stopped working, since about a week ago. Regardless of which device I use, and regardless of it's an old (already shared) presentation or if I create a new presentation that I try to share, I keep getting the same error message stating "You're offline." even though I'm online. The icloud storage seems to work since any new presentations show up instantly on all devices and other icloud features such as shared notes work.

This is the error message:

I've tried the following steps, to no avail:

  • Restarting all devices
  • Disconnecting and then re-connecting my icloud account on my computer
  • Moving all presentations from icloud to local storage, and then back to icloud
  • Deactivating and re-activating icloud storage for keynote on my computer
  • Updating all firmware
  • Uninstallering and re-installing Keynote on my computer
  • Disconnecting all addons and extensions in the OS

I've tried to google the issue furiously, but couldn't find any answers.

Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this?

Hello Lukasthlm,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!

Based on what you mentioned, you not able to use iCloud to share Keynote presentations.

If you have the requirements set up as seen in Intro to collaboration in Keynote, you may want to check if you can use the feature on an alternate network. It appears that you've done quite a bit specific to the application, but you may have an external contribution to this issue. Check if your security software in your router or a VPN is causing the issue.

Also, review "If collaboration isn't available" here: About collaboration for Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.

Best wishes!
