My iPhone started to turn off calls and not letting me use the screen

My phone recently has started to crash, by turning off my calls and not letting me use the screen. I have to complete turn my phone off and this only happens when I’m on a call.

what is happening?

Can’t answer incoming calls! Hey does anyone know how to fix whatever is wrong with my iPhone? I have an incoming call but my screen is BLANK. No way to swipe or touch anything! I tried pushing buttons, switching screens … I've never had this malfunction before, and it’s done it with all incoming calls so far today. PLEASE HELP!
