Hi!
Everytime I go to open my slack desktop app on my iMac pro - I get this error message:
I've tried installing and uninstalling the Slack app, restarting my computer - all to no avail?
I'm currently running MacOS Catalina v10.15.2. Any advice on how to fix this error message would be amazing - thank you!!

Hey there! I’m not too familiar with Slack. But I do know that many only 32-bit apps, starting with High Sierra and finally with Catalina won’t work until the app developer upgrades their software to 64 bit:

This May be unrelated but was my first guess, as in the article you can check in:
Apple > About This Mac > System Report > Software > Applications, (See the 64 bit column to determine), or better, click Legacy Software, everything in there is 32 bit software and probably won’t work.
If so, you may need to contact the app developer, if it is not 32 bit, then apologize, let me know because there’s something else going on, hope that helps!

Thanks so much for the reply... looks like the app is already 64 bit, so I'm not too sure!
Maybe it's a developer issue? I think they recently launched an update - my colleague mentioned she updated Slack and started having the same issue!
It's a problem with the new update I'm pretty sure... the response above fixed my problem! Downloaded the program directly from the Slack site and we're in business!

Thanks - downloading Slack from the Slack website and then replacing the current version on my mac with it solved this issue for me. Otherwise I was seeing a similar message

Me too, just today for no reason. I couldn't upload files to slack and now I can't open it.

I’ve fixed it. I searched for slack at the root of the file system and deleted all the slack files, folders and the application. Then I reinstalled slack and it worked.

Just rename or delete this folder:
~/Library/Containers/com.tinyspeck.slackmacgap/
