Macbook Pro 2017 camera image flickering
I have a MacBook Pro from 2017, macOS 10.15.6, and have been having issues with my camera since May. In May, it stopped working altogether, but after about 6 weeks of not doing anything involving the camera, it started working on its own again. I had another episode of the camera not working/fixing itself again a month ago, but now, I've started noticing that the camera will turn on, but the image will flicker or flash, so the person that I am talking to over FaceTime or Zoom sees my image flashing/flickering. The video I see of others is fine, and it's not my whole screen that is flickering, it's just the camera/video image. The green light is on as it should be and not flickering. I have tried restarting my computer, closing all other programs as to not overload my computer CPU, I've tried resetting the SMC, PRAM/NVRAM, starting my computer in Safe Mode, looked at all of the energy saver options, screen time, allowed programs to access my camera, I've checked the hardware and it says there are no issues with the camera, diagnostics don't return any issues, my internet connection is strong enough, I've tried using Terminal to restart the camera and the issue keeps coming back. I've tried using other apps with the camera, and they all have the same issue with the video image flickering/flashing. It is getting really annoying and inconvenient to have to use my phone for school Zoom meetings and exams. Anyone have any ideas? Please help!!
