Apple Watch taking forever to deliver

I ordered an I-phone 12 and it was delivered the SAME DAY! The pandemic has not slowed Apple down. The price point is the problem. I bet if you ordered a Hermès Apple Watch they would find a way to ship it in 1-2 days. They wanna charge an arm and a leg but can’t ship everything on a timely manner. Starting to dislike Apple. Can’t even get a brick for the I-phone 12!

This is a user-to-user technical support forum. No one here has any special insight into Apple's logistic or supply chains. However, there is this global pandemic that is currently getting worse in the U.S.

I'm not sure the pandemic has much to do with it except maybe manufacturing but China and Korea are through most of it and mostly operating normal from what I read. IMO, it's the braided solo loop that is new to this launch. When you select other types of wrist bands the shipping moves around. the braided solo in grey size 8 (what I ordered) is now unavailable and my wife's watch with a different band arrived yesterday (ordered at the same time). Just curious if any other users had unearthed any answers from their experiences like I had. I also thought about canceling my order and going for in-store pickup but that's also not available which means that watch band hasn't hit some apple stores while we know the watch has. Just interesting.

The pandemic is affecting lots of things, especially if you're in a country that's experiencing a surge. Delivery times on many consumer products are slipping. Lots of stores are out of weird things.

I ordered in September a week to two weeks after announcement. I really needed it because of the Oxygen sat monitoring capabilities as I was toward the end of COVID-19 and having been high risk for multiple reasons. I have not received it yet so that is over 2 months. They say it was shipped weeks ago. In the meantime, I ordered and received an iPhone 12 so, not sure it has much to do with the pandemic. By the way, Costco has them for purchase now😉 So maybe it is production issues with the braided band.

I just tested this...Apple Watch with braided loop is 6-8weeks delivery, just changed it to the sport strap and delivery is next day express delivery!

So I purchased this to get the watch, and separately ordered the strap for the delivery at the end of Jan.

So others reading, switch the bands around if you want the watch now and not fussed by having a strap you’ll use less, and order the strap you want for the later delivery 👍🏼

I wish I had known this back in September when I ordered mine and received it at least 2 months later. It would have helped a great deal since I was in the throes of Covid 19 and oxygen dependent. I have mine now, just got it a week ago, but have many many bands I have purchased since my first Apple Watch (a series 1) that would have worked fine. I was so anxious to get mine because of the O2 sat monitoring. Because of my profession I was in the very first wave of O2 sat monitor users (in the OR) and remember how fussy AND expensive they were. I am very happy that Apple worked with those who could miniaturize the technology and put in such a small wearable item. It's genius!!

Longest wait I have had for any Apple product in the last 17+ years. Could have been so much shorter had I known. Good sleuthing haskins85

Well you see, I ordered a phone from them in early September, and received it in a few days. If you’re not going to be helpful, please go away.

I ordered mine on September 15th and the window is Oct. 14 - 21. You won't hear of a change in status until it is ready to ship.

Darn. I came here looking for answers, but instead found others in the same situation. Ordered my SE on Sept. 24 and the delivery date is Oct 27- Nov 3.

Well, you see, there’s this thing called a worldwide pandemic that has slowed down everything. Manufacturers, suppliers, shippers like UPS and FedEx, everyone is experiencing problems.

Did you ever get your watch? Mine is currently stuck in Korea because of “Severe Weather Delays”. It’s been there for 5 days. Seems kinda fishy considering the weather forecast has been clear.
