iPhone Mail not syncing

I have iOS 14.0.1 installed on my iPhone XS and the Mail client is not syncing with my other devices, when I delete, read, or move emails from my Inbox on either my iMac or iPad. The mail client on my iMac and iPad do sync when I make a change on my iPhone in Mail.

This is a new development. Is there a bug in this release of iOS causing this issue? Thanks

AppleUser756,

We appreciate you updating us with this information, and great job isolating this.

We'd recommend using the Connection Doctor to see if this is able to isolate why you're seeing that the messages aren't syncing properly. For assistance with using this, take a look at the following resource:

Use Connection Doctor in Mail on Mac

In addition to this, have you tried removing your account and adding it back to see if this is resolved? For assistance with that, check out this resource:

Add or remove email accounts in Mail on Mac

We hope this is able to help with resolving what you're experiencing.

Have a great day!

Thanks for the response. It turns out that the issue is with the Mail client on my iMac. When I manage my inbox on my iMac, the changes are not getting reflected on the Gmail server causing it to look like the mail on my other devices (i.e. iPhone, etc) wasn't getting synced. The issue really is that the changes are stuck. If I look at the Window > Activity dialog, I can see two activities that are not moving and are causing the issue. What file holds these activities? How can I clear them out - so my mail client on my iMac works properly again? Thanks

Greetings AppleUser756,

We see that you're having a problem with your mail not syncing properly from your iPhone to your other devices, and we understand how this can create confusion. You've come to the right place for assistance with this.

When you set up your account with your iPhone, did you manually set it up or did you select your email provider in the list? If you set this up manually, let's see if you selected IMAP or POP preferences. You'll want to make sure that you selected to use IMAP. For more information on this and how to set up the email account again if you need, check out the following resource:

Add an email account to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If you see that correcting settings or adding your account again doesn't resolve this, do you see that this is occurring with multiple email accounts or have you only noticed this with one account on your iPhone?

We look forward to hearing back from you.

Cheers!
