This is on you. You will have to restore your Apple TV using support documents from Apple. If you send it in you will be charged a fee to restore it unless it’s still under warranty.

I had the exact same thing happened to me! I called Apple Support and also took my appletv hd into the store for troubleshooting. The rep couldn’t restore it either and so I bought a new Apple TV 4K since all my video that family watches is on an appletv. So frustrating!! The store rep said maybe others will report this problem and they come out with an update. I seriously doubt it after several weeks and not enough traffic being report on this problem.

I would like to know if anyone had their Apple TV shipped to Apple for repair and whether Apple charged them for the repair or realized they caused the problem and returned the Apple TV with no charge?

What makes you think Apple caused your problem? A software update?

So you think my network failed to properly download the tvos14 update? My network worked fine all evening during this process. My Apple TV is still bricked and not even an update with a usb c cable and a MacBook will fix the problem. As I said earlier, the update bricked my Apple TV. However the update bricked it, I should have the ability to unbrick it without cost.

Yes I do, corrupt downloads can happen with any download. This can normally be traced back to a network issue within someones home. Unless you use a Mesh network and regularly check it's health and coverage that is what the issue most of the time. Millions of other users have had no problems, a few have and they post on forums like these and because they are either not aware of their own networks capabilities or don't check it for it's health they like to blame Apple or whatever vendor they use.

What happened when you called AppleCare for assistance?

When I updated my Apple TV to IOS 14, the process failed right in the middle of the update. My Apple TV hasn’t functioned since and it’s bricked. This is squarely on Apple.

I don't agree, that is almost certain a networking issue in your location. I have updated my Apple TV 4K many times and TV OS works just fine, yes even TV OS 14.

I did restore it according to Apple documentation. I also took it into the store and the store rep tried to restore it via their documentation also but it still failed to unbrick the device.
