Trash files, but less space??

Hi All

Weirdly, I've noticed that when I trash some bigger files my hard drive available space (SSD) actually decreases!

It appears to right itself eventually, I think but I don't know why this should happen.

I have a time machine backup drive attached, something to do with that?

files waiting to be 'purged'?

any ideas??

Placing files in the Trash will not release the space until you Empty the Trash. Otherwise, you are simply observing the result of delays in the OS releasing the space. I wouldn't lose sleep over it. If this is a persistent issue, then run First Aid on the drive.
