Make new library with only the clips used in the timeline

Can I create a new library and move my project and media to it but inly taking the clips that are used in the timeline and noting else?

MacBook, macOS 10.12

Moving clips between projects? I would think this would be simple, but I can't figure it out... I have a couple of hour-long videos that I have divided up, on the timeline, into the clips that I want to use. I need to use the same edited clips in several different projects (both trailers and movies.) I can't find a way to move or copy the clips between projects- only the original hour-long videos. I don't want to have to re-edit the hour-long videos several times to get the clips I need. Is there a way to do this that I am missing?

Can’t import Clip again after deleted it in fcpx Hello, I’ve got a question and Hope someone can help me. i started to make a new library -> Event -> Project. i Import a Clip. Everything is fine right now. I see the clip in fcpx and could ad it to the timeline. Problem: I can’t import the clip again! if I deleted the Clip by marking it in fcpx and press backspace (above the Timeline in my project overview), it’s not possible to import it again if I change my mind :D i go to Media -> import choose the exact same clip which I imported a few minutes ago but nothing happens?! the only way is to make a new library. Then it’s possible to import the Clip. But as you can imagine I don’t want a new library… hope you guys can help me. Sorry my English isn’t good. Kind regards Tim

Copying clips and scenes from one timeline into another I was asked to create a reel of my directing/DP work. For this, I'd need to copy clips from the timeline of films I have made into the timeline of the reel library. I have not found a way to do this. I only found a way to copy whole projects - which does not work for creating a reel. I need the color corrected and edited sequence from a film to go into the reel footage. How can I do this? Do I have to copy all the projects into the reel library, and then create a reel timeline there, and copy from the project timelines into the reel timeline?

Make a new library. Set the media to be stored in the library. Drag the project from one library to the other.

You can do that, but it will take the whole clip and not just the portion used in the timeline.

Thanks. When it asks if I want to include Media, do I want Original Media and Optimized Media or just Optimized?

Original only. You can’t do Optimized only.
