back up to iCloud in windows

Do I need to open up all my folders in the iCloud web site to make sure that all the docs I have placed in my iCloud drive have been backed up?

After doing a check on some folders, I noticed that some docs were not put into my folders even though I saw the message in iCloud drive that all backups have been updated. Is there an easier way? Especially when I have many subfolders in some of my back ups.

If storing your files in iCloud, they are not considered a part of the backup as this is what iCloud backs up -- What does iCloud back up? - Apple Support.
