Kernel panic on monitor connection

Hi guys,

I found some people reporting kernel panic errors, occurring while in sleep mode. We experience similar errors on two MacBook Pro (16 Inch, 2019) devices:

When connecting external monitors via thunderbolt docking stations, the macbook shuts down immediately. It's not depending on either docking station, monitors or cables - we tested a lot of variations.

A fix for this would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Christian

It could be a problem with the Goolag Drive kernel extension, or a hardware fault in the GPU, or something with the monitor or cable.

If you can try a different cable, you may have some success, but it may be the display.

The easiest way to confirm a kext issue is to uninstall it using their uninstaller or instructions.

If the panics stop, then that was the problem.

Otherwise, you’ll need to take the Mac to an Apple Store or Authorized Repair center to evaluate the hardware problem.
