MacBook Pro 2019 - Crashing on shutdown when using external display.

Hi all,

I have a 2019 MacBook Pro (16”) connected to an external 4K monitor (with lid closed). When selecting ‘shutdown’ whilst using the monitor, the MacBook will freeze for a few minutes before firing up its fans and eventually force-powering off.

When I log back in, I’m always greeted with the ‘Your computer was restarted because of a problem.’ error.

I’ve also noticed that applications are crashing more frequently, but may just be a coincidence.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
