volume up and down stopped working and silent button

My iPhone xs max volume buttons and silent switch have stopped working, haven't dropped the phone, they were working this morning and just stopped randomly during the day. I have performed a soft and a hard reset of the iPhone but to no avail.

Pulsating volume button So my phone is currently as I’m typing pulsating in my hand. The volume button starting randomly jumping up and down and then down also as low as it can go before Mute. I turned the phone off for about 3 mins. And then powered it back on and now the volume is pulsating on the side left screen of the phone. I have a iPhone 12 Pro Max. Anyone else experienced this?

If you have a thick cover on your iPhone, take it off and try again pressing them.
