I just created a new Admin user and wanted to delete the existing users one user is Admin and the other is a standard user. but the minus sign "-" is always grey (inactive)! i tried logging out and in again as well as changing the password, but still not able to delete! any help is much appreciated!

You can’t delete the guest user, and as mentioned, you need to be logged out of the account you want to delete. I haven’t managed to confirm this, but if your old user is the only one that can decrypt FileVault, I would hope the OS would prevent you from deleting it.

Having the Guest user enabled is advantageous if your Mac is lost or stolen .
This allows the ability to boot fully, and get on line— in this way you can more easily track and use the FindMy.app
on any of your other devices to locate.

You cannot delete a user account that is being used.
There is no standard user in that screenshot.
"Guest User" appears as a consequence of enabling Find My Mac. If you do deny the ability for guest users to log in then select it and turn it off.

the whole idea was that I just migrated my old MacBook into a new one, wanted to cleanse all my data from the old one but keep the applications as I’m giving it to my daughter! I created a new admin account for her and wanted to delete the other accounts before giving it away.
You can only delete a user if they are logged out from the drop down menu in the upper left

Why would you delete your admin account?
Ah, I see, that should be possible, but you will have to log out & into her account to do it.
I assume her username is just whited out in the pic.
