I have lost the case for my airpods pro and need to replace it.
Made an appointment with the "genius" bar but they said they cannot help me without the serial number and they have no way to get the serial number other than on the case itself or the original packaging, so they said they cannot help.
There is no charge left in my airpods so I can't connect to my phone and obtain the serial that way.
Serial number is on the box, etched into the case and is usually on your receipt.
If you don't have one of those, seems you are out of luck.

If Apple support can't offer you any solutions, there is nothing we can really do for you.
Suggestion for future, I took a photo on my phone of the serial number so I have it in case I misplace the box from my shrine of tech purchases.
So it seems the only available option for me is to buy a third party charging case from amazon?
Was really hoping to find a way to buy an original replacement from Apple, shouldn’t the “genius” bar people be able to charge my AirPods, connect them to Bluetooth and obtain the serial via Bluetooth settings on the iPhone?
