Apple Music search not working.

Whenever I try and search up an artist or album it won’t work. I will have a search result pop up but when I tap on the artist name nothing happens and when I tap in an album, no song list pops up or ability to download the album. I can still play individual songs, download individual songs, and get full access to my previously downloaded stuff, but albums and artists aren’t working in the search page. If i could get some help that would be great!

It sounds like you are having issues searching for artists and albums in Apple Music on your iPhone 8 with iOS 14.

Do you have Apple Music on other devices in your home? Any issues with the same search criteria on another device?


Here are a few things you can try to address this issue:


  • Check to make sure your iPhone is updated to iOS 14.0.1 - Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
  • Restart your iPhone to refresh it and reestablish a connection to the internet.
  • Check your Apple Music subscription to confirm it is active - See or cancel your subscriptions
  • On the iPhone, open Settings > Music. Is "Show Apple Music" enabled?
  • Check to make sure Sync Library is enabled - Turn on Sync Library with Apple Music
  • Check Apple System Status to confirm there are no issues with the Apple Music service.
  • Try a different network. If you are using Wi-Fi, switch to a cellular network, to test. (You may need to enable Cellular Data in Settings > Music).
