Can't add songs to playlists in "Music" (formerly iTunes)

Before moving to Catalina, I could simply create an iTunes playlist and drag songs into it from internal or external disk. This, apparently, is no longer possible under iTunes' replacement, called Music, and I could not find instructions for adding songs.

Can anyone help, please?

Catalina Music not converting or accessing iTunes library. Did a clean install of Catalina in its own APFS container, leaving my Mojave installation intact, as there are some 32 bit apps I still want to keep. Opened Music and it asked for Library so on the Mojave installation, I went to ~music (Choose)>iTunes(Choose)>iTunes Media(Choose)>Music(Choose) and it then goes to the individual artist/album and then the song is grayed out. Also tried it opening Music with the option key with same results. Was able to copy the songs to the Music folder in the Catalina container, however, it didn't bring along any of the date like ratings, playlists, etc. Any help much appreciated.

Cannot add music to any Playlist I cannot add songs from my Apple Music (formerly iTunes) library to any of my playlists. I have tried to drag and drop, add by means of "edit" or right clicking on song and then selecting "add song to playlist"....nothing works. All of the afore mentioned above worked before however; since uploading the new Catalina/Apple Music it does not work. Maybe an update is required? When can this be expected?

Importing iTunes playlist into Apple Music I bought a new machine, restored my Time Machine backup, but OS Monterey has removed the iTunes App. I've been able to import my iTunes music files, but my playlists did not come over. I can't find any playlist files in the iTunes folders. What's the command or file location to import all playlists in Music? The Apple response on community says to 'open iTunes and export your playlists'. Well, OS Monterey took iTunes away, so that's not an option. I went back to my old machine and the "Export Playlist" feature in iTunes exports playlists one at a time. I have 100 playlists - am I going to need to export each one separately?

SOLVED: Got help from AppleCare. Songs have to be dragged onto the playlist title/folder in the left sidebar; not into the playlist window as before.
