Time Capsule not showing in Airport Utility

I received a Time Capsule a few years ago and did not have time setting it up until now. I connected it to the router and started it as per the instructions but the Time Capsule does not show in Airport Utility. I am on a MacBook Pro 13 inch Mid-2012.

Following other threads related to the same problem, I did a factory reset but the TC does not show in the WiFi list or in Airport Utility. How can I make it work?

If we take the information in your post at face value, you have a defective Time Capsule.

We understand that you have a MacBook Pro, but don't know what type of router to which the Time Capsule will connect with an Ethernet cable. Make and model number info would really help here.

Can you please provide that information so we can run through the set up with you again?

Assuming that the Time Capsule can be set up again, are you planning to use the Time Capsule WiFi to back up to the Time Capsule.......or.......are you planning to use the existing WiFi network from your current router to back up to the Time Capsule?

What OS are you running on the computer? Catalina has proven particularly difficult.

What is the actual model of the TC? Is it the tall AC model. Look on the box and give us the model number which is A1470.

If you have iPhone or iPad download the airport utility from the app store.. it is free and try using that.. it is often better and easier.
