HFP for navigation is not timed well since iOS 14

Hi,

Since iOS 14 my spoken navigation-instructions over the HFP channel on my car-radio are sended/played too fast. I can not hear the first 1 or 2 seconds of the navigation instructions anymore wich is VERY annoying. Does anyone know how to delay the instructions or solve the problem?

Another thing is that the settings for HFP are only visible in the maps-app when it is connected to the car-radio. I hardly can find any information on this subject. Is it possible to manage the settings without being connected to the car?

I use the original Apple Maps app and i am connected over bluetooth.

For the people who don't know what HFP is: HFP sends spoken navigation-instructions to your car-radio as a phonecall-ringtone. So when a navigation-instruction is sended to the radio, the radio show my own phone-number is calling and i hear the navigation instruction. So you can just listen to FM-radio and not have to set your car-radio to 'media-channel'. Great functionality for car-radio's without a touch-screen but since iOS 14 it isn't working well anymore.

Thank you for your reaction Chris,

I just have a standard built-in bluetooth radio with built-in carkit in my Renault Clio Life (2014)

I can not call it 'software' what is on the radio. It is not updatable and it was always working fine until iOS 14.

I reconnected my iPhone 11 but still the same problem.

Good day,

I can't help you, but my girlfriend and I have the same problem.

On iOS 13, everything worked normally.

I'll be happy if Apple fixes the error.
