'Missing fonts' message on MacBook Air

Hello, nearly every document I open, whether I created it on my new-ish MacBook or not, comes with this annoying message, 'This document has missing fonts.' Often, it's in the way of the txt and I have to wait for it to go away. If I wanted to change the fonts in the document I'd do so, I never ever need this message!

How do I stop it showing up?

Thanks

David

Unless optionally configured to do otherwise, MS Word does not embed fonts, but only their font references, including prefabricated font names that are not installed on any Windows or Mac.

Apple's Pages has no means to embed fonts in anything other than an exported EPUB, and even that is optional. Pages expects any font reference in a document that it opens to be physically installed on the Mac where Pages is installed — unless embedded in the document. If not, it will pop a warning dialog about missing fonts, and may attempt font substitution.

The solution is to download the missing font as OpenType from a site where you can get that particular font face for free. I would put these into your /Users/yourname/Library/Fonts folder, which is one of the three that the System searches for fonts.
