Gen. 2 Apple TV

Is there any way to connect a Bluetooth speaker to a Gen. 2 Apple TV. I only see an option for a keyboard. If not is there a way to only allow the Apple TV to access the image and not the sound? Whenever I have the Apple TV connected and if a connect the speaker with a audio cord, the Apple TV will automatically override and try to pull the audio. Is there a way to disable this.

Bluetooth devices (other than keyboard) are supported for Apple TV (4th generation or later), nor earlier models.

Apple TV will use the default speaker as connected by wires. That is, if the optical digital audio port is connected to an audio receiver/soundbar, then it will use that. Otherwise the audio will be carried by the HDMI to the TV/AV receiver/soundbar.

It is not possible to AirPlay video and audio to separate devices.

In short: NO

The solution I would do is (but that works by cable, not bluetooth)

1- Connect the GEN 2 to the television with the HDMI cable.

2- Get an Apple Airport Express, connect the Airport Express to the wifi of ethernet in the room.

3- Take an ethernet output from the Airport Express into the Gen 2.

4- Play the sound of the GEN into the Airport Express (from the sound options).

5- Take a 3.5mm audio output from the GEN 2 to your speakers.
