Will magnetic mounts affect Magsafe on new iPhones

How did this workout for you? Was thinking of this as a solution...attaching magnet to back of the MagSafe charger and attaching to my existing mount, then phone to the charger. Any issues?

Here is what I am thinking, and need confirmation if this will damage the MagSafe charger from Apple. Car mount vent via magnet, stick the metal sheet on the Apple MagSafe charger and have the MagSafe charger hold and charge the phone.

it works and the MagSafe is charging and holding the phone firmly.

now the one million dollar question is does the magnet on the back of the MagSafe damage the MagSafe charger itself??

I’ve tried it and yes it works. Charging, holding firm, etc.. but my question is this going to damage the MagSafe charger itself? I know apple support will only approve what apple make or sell..

i looked at the Belkin, I am not sure why they would make a MagSafe car holder and not have it charge ?

@DragonMac, have you noticed any issues so far having the MagSafe charger connected to the car magnet? Has it stopped charging, or charge slower? Also, just generally how does the MagSafe charger work for holding the phone? Does it fall off around sharp turns or fast stops?

I do also agree that it it is really weird to not have the Belkin one charge with MagSafe...

The charging time seems to be slower, but I am not sure if I am unknowingly damaging little by little either the MagSafe chargers or the phone itself...

I bought the iPhone 12 mini, so weight is not an issue and so far it holds firm in the car attached to the MagSafe.

I came out with another solution.. Used a cable hook (see attached), inserted the thin but strong hook/hand between the dashboard and the A/C vent. Stick the rectangular part into the MagSafe.. So far this looks great. you only see the circular MagSafe on the dashboard and the finish is perfect.

I know scosche makes a magic mount magnet- but my question is can i just use my regular scosche magnet on the back or will it negatively impact the phone. I dont use wireless charging but i dont want to hurt the phone by using what i already have. (Non magic mount scosche magnet)

Just note in mind that the iphone 12 pro max will be heavier than iPhone 12. My recommendation is not to depend on the magsafe for mount holder.

I read a review on Amazon that said using wireless charging with the magnet on back heated up their phone and damaged the battery.

Yeah, I just tried this. I've taken the magnet off and it works fine. The annoying thing is the MagSafe magnets aren't strong enough and don't stay on the car mount. Phone keeps falling off.
