I have a 27" IMac 2 years old. It has no CD . I purchased a USB Super Drive. If I plug it int one SuperDrive

Should the Super Drive work on all 4 USBc ports? It does not work on at least one but does on annother.

Yes, of course it should work on any USB port. At first glance, it would appear that you may have a defective port. You can test it by doing the following steps:

(1) Plug your Super Drive into the USB port in question.

(2) Click on About This Mac below the Apple logo.

(3) Click in the System Report button. In the window that opens, under Hardware (at the top of the window) click on USB. In the rather complex window that opens you will see USB 3.0 Bus. Below that you will see whatever other deices you have plugged into each USB port. Does the Super Drive show up? If not, the port is likely defective.

(4) Next, I would swap the super Drive and another device and then see if the other device shows on that port. If not, then it is definitely a defective port and would need to be repaired.

NOTE, you might have to close and reopen the window to see the changes you make.
