Is the iMac 24" M1 2021 compatible with the Super Drive as it IS missing from the compatibility list AND its not appearing when using the Apple Adapter...it makes noise then spits the CD out...

Are you using an official Apple USB-C adapter? Is it plugged in directly to the iMac? Is the Apple logo face down (the aluminum side up)?

Most certainly. Plug it directly into the iMac of it you use some sort of dock make sure it provides necessary electrical characteristics.
Some have reported issues. Personally I think it is overpriced for what it does and is not high quality. When opted for a DVD/CD drive I went to www.macsales.com. Why, they specialize in Macs, everything they sell is very high quality and are tested to work with Macs and provide great pre and post sales support and their prices are great. If that is overkill for your needs, they have many options available.
It should work but not through a dock, must be connected directly to the Mac.
