I just recieved a pop up on my i-phone that my phone has a virus and I need to down load a app from the app store? I think it is bogus.

I just received a full screen pop up on my I-phone, with the apple logo, that says my phone has a virus and I need to download an app from the App Store. It looked bogus? I can't get through to the Apple store by phone. Thanks for any input.
