AirPods distort my voice when connected to my Mac

Whenever I'm in a call (MS teams, zoom, FaceTime) I apparently sound "like a robot" and my voice is distorted. When I switch to the microphone on my Mac I am heard perfectly fine. This issue does not seem to happen while using my phone. Does anyone know what causes this and more importantly how I can fix it?

Hello rubya201!

We see you are having some trouble with your AirPods mic quality being poor when connected to your Mac. we can absolutely understand needing to get that issue resolved and we are happy to help. It sounds like this issue may be wireless interference since the regular mic on your Mac has no issues. This article can help with that: Resolve Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues caused by wireless interference. These steps can be great as well: If the sound from your wireless headphones cuts out or is distorted
