A former employee didn't sign out of iCloud before leaving the company

A former employee didn't sign out of iCloud before leaving the company and we have no chance of getting the password to log out of the device. How can we get use of this phone to give to a different employee?

If you have the original receipt or have it enrolled in Apple Business Manager, you can contact Apple Support for assistance.


If neither applies, if you have a Mobile Device Management Platform, you may be able to reach out to their support for assistance in removing activation lock (not a guarantee).



If none of the above apply, you are out of luck, and you should look into Apple Business Manager and an MDM platform to prevent these issues in the future.
