Spam AOL mail account that’s not mine

I keep getting mail on my iPhone that’s says it’s being sent to account ***@aol.com I don’t have an aol account. This account isn’t under my accounts in the mail settings and I can’t block these emails it get rid of it. I saw someone else was experiencing this problem but no one responded.

I just saw this on another website and I thought I’d share it!

In Gmail (NOT the mobile app):

1) Go to settings

2) Click ‘see all settings’

3) Select ‘Filters and Blocked Addresses’

4) ‘Create New Filter’

5) Fill in the ‘To’ line with the address that you are receiving email for, but which doesn’t belong to you.

6) Hit ‘Create Filter’

7) Select what you want done with it. I chose to ‘Delete it’ AND ‘Also apply to # matching conversations’.

8) Move on with life.

Hi, same problem here but I feel like I’ve stumbled across a solution. The link I provided below will direct you to a Gmail discussion page and if you scroll down enough to some of the responses, it’ll give you one that may solve your issue. I found a solution as I scrolled down, the user’s name should be Diamond Product Expert icantchooseone. Hope that helps.

I had the AOL issue for about 7 months. Finally got fed up and decided to get rid of the junk. Deleted every game on my iPhone. Never got another spam. I have reintroduced some games one at a time to see which one was doing it. So far, no spam. Did not download every game so it is probably one of the ones I have abandoned. Maybe not everyone’s problem but it thankfully worked for me. Good luck.

I only have two games on my phone...and I’ve had them both for years...can you maybe list the apps you deleted?

I set a filter through gmail to delete all messages “to” myname@aol.com and that’s worked fine so far! But if I have a spammy app on my phone I want to delete it! But like I said...I only have 2 games on my iPhone that I’ve had for years....

Did that work? I can’t figure out how to do it! I’m getting the same thing: spam emails sent to an aol account I don’t have. But they are inundating my iPhone inbox 😞. Blocking doesn’t work because that doesn’t address each sender. I don’t have an email account with aol but they are sending it to an account that uses my first name@aol.com. And they are cc’ing that account too.

Well I can tell you that going into setting (gmail) and blocking all @aol certainly worked but......

all of my very important emails (well all emails ) were going straight to trash ! I just so happen to go into trash. All my confirmation appointments were days late etc.

I had to revert back to not blocking . Now I get my emails and for some reason not getting the spam anymore. Weird

I had done that for 3 weeks .
