iPad Air 4 Tap to Wake

Hey there, anyone maybe in the know if the new iPad Air 4 (Release: October 2020) does support the „Tap to Wake“-function known from the Pro-models and the iPhone X-lineup?

I wasn‘t able to find any hint regarding this question yet.

To me „Tap to Wake“ is a very useful function, admittedly on the iPhone even more than on the iPad, which frequently has been missed while using my iPad Air 2019.

Thank you very much in advance for your reply!

Some days later now I found an evidence the new iPad Air 4 indeed being equipped with the "Tap to Wake"-function.

The official iPad user guide by Apple now does mention the Air 4 in the suitable listing. Just a few days ago this wasn't the case.

So there's good hope the Air 4 will be able to be woken up by just a tap on the screen. (Unlocking the device however remains another thing – this has to be made by using the Touch ID integrated in the ON/OFF-button at the top, at least as a security feature has been set.)

This is a user to user community, you are not addressing Apple. So everybody here would only have the information which was within the Apple event or within the Apple website.

So your best to ask Apple or wait for the reviews to come out or ask some of the Apple reviewers when they post their videos/articles on the air 4
