Can we mute or unmute from the device in Airpod or Airpod Pro

I do not have a iPhone nor I intend to buy any in the future too however my work laptop is a Mac and I would love to use Airpod to connect to my meetings. Our meetings are usually done in Microsoft teams and I need to sit in front of my Mac monitor for an hour doing nothing just to wait for my turn to unmute and talk, basically worthless meetings to waste an hour for my 5 minute of participation. I was thinking if I could use this 55 min by taking a walk or do some stretching exercises and be just away from the screen.


Surprisingly I do not find an external mute button or any actions which leads to device mute or unmute.

Do we have it or will there be any airpod in the near future which would have this feature.


Surprisingly there are lot of topics which are discussed and wonder how come Apple missed it.

Amazon has some earpods as low as $49 which has this feature.

Surprisingly there seems to be no activity on this thread.

However I would like to take this opportunity to make sure that people are not disheartened by not seeing any answer on this thread. Finally I got a cheaper option and people would want to use it.

There is a mute/unmute button which allows you to just sit somewhere near your laptop and allow to listen or take calls.
