2020 Jeep Cherokee Apple CarPlay connected by USB cable

2020 Jeep Cherokee Apple CarPlay connected by USB port phone does not use the car speakers and microphone. Sound goes into and out of the phone itself not the car speakers and microphone.

When the system is in Uconnect mode using Bluetooth connection and not the USB cable, the speakers and microphone in the car do work with the phone.

How do I get the car to use the car’s speakers and car’s microphone for the phone when it’s in Apple CarPlay mode using the USB cable (lightning cable)?

I have followed the directions of the article you suggest. Everything works well except that the phone speaker and phone microphone are used instead of the car speaker and car microphone. Siri listens trough the car microphone and talks though the car speakers.

If I disconnect the USB cable and use Bluetooth, I can make a phone call where I can talk and hear through the car's mic and speakers, but I can not use Apple Car Play through Bluetooth.
