Breathe - when and why Apple Watch asks you to

Hello! I've noticed that Apple Watch suggests having mindfulness sessions at different times of the day. I was wondering how it is decided to send the notification. Heartbeat? Time since last session? both things?

Thanks in advance!

Hi again,

It sounds like the Breathe Reminders you're receiving are prompting you to start a session at different times throughout the day, and that time can vary day to day. We can further clarify how those notifications work. You set your Breath Reminders in the Watch app on your iPhone > Breath > Breath Reminders.

If you're seeing these reminders at unexpected times, it could be due to the reminder being rescheduled. "If you're moving or exercising, or if you start a session on your own, your Apple Watch reschedules your reminder. You’ll get the reminder a short time after you stop moving." The link we posted previously provides more details.

We hope this information is helpful. Take care!

Hi there Baldursgate,

It sounds like you're asking what prompts the notification to start a session in the Breathe app on your Apple Watch. We're glad you're here, and we can provide some guidance.

"Your Apple Watch reminds you throughout the day to breathe. You can adjust or turn off these reminders." To learn more about how to adjust your Breathe Reminders, check out the 'Adjust or turn off reminders' section in our support article below:

Use the Breathe app

We hope this provides some clarification. Cheers!
