Move the Pictures Folder to an external drive.

I followed the instructions to move the Pictures to an external drive.

It said to delete the original folder then make an Alias

Problem is that Photos Library is still in the Original Folder Pictures under users and it does not give me a way to delete this. Photos Library DID copy to the external drive and I opened it and it worked.

So how do I get rid of the Original Pictures Folder on my hard drive.

The location is Hard Drive > Users > Home > Pictures > Photos Library

Update I was able to click on the Photos Library in Original Pictures Folder and Trash but still no way to delete the Original Pictures Folder from Hard Drive.

Thanks

PS: To explain why I am doing this: I have a Seagate Backup Plus Drive. There is a folder on my Hard Drive Called Mirror and all my documents are in this folder and back up automatically as I am working. I want to do the same thing with my Pictures so that they back up automatically so I copied them to the Mirror Folder - now I want to get rid of the original Picture Folder.

Hello jwallace5!

It sounds like you are trying to delete the Pictures folder located in Home on your Mac. We'd be glad to give you some information on this.

As it turns out, the Pictures folder located in the home folder on your Mac can not be deleted because it is apart of the macOS. The content within the folder can be moved or deleted.

It sounds like you have already completed the necessary steps listed here: Move your Photos library to save space on your Mac

We hope this helps.

Cheers!
