Apple watch 6 won't link to at&t cellular

When trying to set up apple watch 6 to at&t cellular it fails and I get a message- We want to keep your info safe we haven't noticed any activity in a while. We are redirecting you for your security.- Underneath is a blue ok bar. When you press it shows RESCOM0111. At&t can it fix. Any ideas?

At&T told me today it is a software problem that they are working on. They have no projected date for a fix. The rep said it could be tomorrow next week or a month.

once they have a fix they will begin notifying everyone. Must say all of the reps I talked to (6) have been pleasant and worked for at least 30 minutes per call to try to fix and then forwarded it to the next level. That is who called today and said they don’t have a fix.

I received my Apple Watch 6 on 9/26 and still no resolution from AT&T or Apple for this issues in the post. I have spent much of my time on the phone with AT&T and as of today no fix. At first I was receiving the Rescom error and now I only see this “We want to keep your info safe”. I was determined to switch to Verizon today after nearly 2 months but after waiting 30 minutes for a sales rep I hung up. My wife’s phone syncs up no problems

I am having this exact same issue. Spent 4 hours on phone on and off, getting no where and disconnected with AT&T CS. Went to ATT store and spent 3 hours with a rep in trying to figure it out with no resolve. Same error redirecting for security message but when you press the blue button it doesn’t load page ..... had series 3 and 4 with no problems when upgrading. HElp!!!!!

I have also had this issue with connecting to at&t cellular. Spoken to 5 different customer service folks...each thinks they have it figured out (but they don't). Only one recognized the RESCOM0111 error code, and said it is a known issue, but again had no idea when it was to be resolved. The att forum seems to be shut down, hoping when folks get theirs working they will post here to give me hope it may fix for me soon! Thanks in advance!

I have been working with AT&T for over a month on this issue. I have submitted 4 different tickets with 3 being closed out with not resolution. I currently (as of today) have a ICU ticket in processing so we will see how that goes.

They told me that Apple AND AT&T both know about the issue and were getting it resolved with the new IOS update.

I just updated both phone and watch and I still get the same code. So apparently that wasn't it.

Apple looked over the device and they refuse to warranty the device due to it showing ATT being the issue.

ATT wont credit me any bills credits or let me return the device. So I'm paying for a service and a watch that I cant use.

Is anyone a lawyer that needs a case? haha

Does anyone else have any update?

I have the exact same issue. This has been going on since I received my watch, about 6 weeks ago. I have spent numerous hours on the phone and in person with AT&T and also with Apple and with Apple and AT&T together. Apple even went so far as replacing my watch. Apple says its an AT&T problem. AT&T even admits there is nothing wrong with my watch. They even forwarded my case to what they call an ICU Incident. 10 days ago AT&T called me and said I would have to be patient while AT&T and Apple (and they made it sound like its an Apple issue) work to find a resolution. I am so tired of the run around. I can't even get an appointment at the Apple Genius Bar because of Covid-19. My watch cost about $1,000. This is getting beyond ridiculous!

Has anyone out there had this problem fixed?

I first got the error code associated with this issue way back in September, so they've known about this for way too long now. I do agree, however, that everyone on the numerous long phone call and reps in the AT&T store have all tried to help and were pleasant. At this point I think I know more about the issue than they do as they all want me to do the same things over and over: update software, reboot both devices, unpair and pair again and on forever. They don't seem to see the case number information and want to start from scratch every time. They are all so confident and tell me how they are going to fix my issue. My patience is wearing thin. After my case was elevated to an ICU Incident, I got another call telling me that there are probably 100 case like mine and admitting that it is their problem and not a problem with the watch. Well, so far I have a $30 credit showing against my next bill and that's great but I just want my watch to get onto my cellular data plan. Never had the first problem with my 5 and have to wonder why only some of us are having this issue with the 6.

This is an AT&T problem. Level 2 tech said it is a software problem. The RESCOM 0110 error code goes back to at least 2018. For some people they get it when they try to sign into their AT&T account others their watch won't pair to a cellular plan. See my post malgcj 10/20. AT&T has no idea how to fix it. Looks to me that at some point they linked something in the software to something that comes up in some accounts. (I'm not a software guy) My wife's watch 6 linked to the same account just fine. I'm going to file a complaint with FCC against AT&T.

Please keep us in the loop on this with the FCC. If this goes back to 2018, we don’t have a prayer of the issue ever being fixed! I may want to get involved...maybe a class action if there’s enough of us. I can’t believe I’m stuck with a $1000 watch that won’t do cellular!

Just to clarify: you mention RESCOM 0110. Was that a typo? My code was RESCOM 0111.

Early on, I ended up with a joint call with AT&T and Apple on the phone at the same time. They came to an agreement that Apple should replace my watch. I was given a link and ultimately spoke with the Apple folks regarding a replacement. Be careful and read the replacement information carefully. If it is deemed that there is nothing wrong with your watch, you can be charged a service fee of something like $129.00.

At any rate, my watch was replaced but it made no difference. The AT&T agent I next talked to when my case was escalated to an ICU issue flat out admitted that the problem is not with the watch but is an issue with AT&T account software.
