I bought a brand new iPad and pencil 2. Straight out of the box when i connected the pencil it said 0% charged. I let it sit for an hour and still 0%. I updated the software, restarted the iPad, and still nothing. Help!

If the the issue persists, go to an Apple Store and have the pencil checked. If defective and still under warranty period, they'll replace it.
