Whilst definitions may differ, they have the same implications for your iPad.

Your iPad can only refresh its screen 60 times each second. The newer models of iPad Pro, with Apple’s pro-motion display, can refresh the screen at either 60 or 120 times per second.

Higher frame rates being supported by the App is entirely irrelevant where the screen hardware is incapable of matching the App.

To be absolutely clear, the maximum achievable frame rate is always the lower of either the device or App frame rate.

fps and hz are not the same thing.

FPS is how many frames your device is producing or drawing, while the refresh rate (in Hz) is how many times the monitor is refreshing the image on the screen.

The iPad's (8th gen) display only supports 60 Hz, sorry.
