My AirPods don’t work through both ears at the same time

So I’ve read through a lot of these. My AirPod doesn’t work through both ears at the same time when I’m using it with my phone, which is what I was it with all the time. I try disconnecting it’s from the phone and the computer and that doesn’t help. Thus far none of the suggestions work for me.
