MacBook Pro disk utility recognizes superdrive DVD+RW but says uninitialized.

MacBook Pro 2017 on Mojave 10.14.6 disk utility recognizes superdrive DVD+RW but says uninitialized. how can I get my MBP to recognize the DVD?

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 10.14

See if you Need to Mount it:

  1. Go to: Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility
  2. View: far-left side of the Disk Utility window
  3. Select: the Superdrive
  4. Click: Mount button (if it does not read "Unmount")
